Mom and pop stroll along with a fuzzy little one in tow

Prior to visiting my mom, she had pulled out maps to several birding places in The Villages, where she lives. Early one morning Cindy and I headed out to Sharon Rose Weichens Preserve, one of the many places my mom had selected. The preserve consists of an open, grassy area and a walking trail/boardwalk that winds it's way out into a swamp/lake area in a large loop. Two adult sandhill cranes, probably mom and pop, were lazily strolling along in the grass with a baby tagging along. I've never seen a baby sandhill crane before and they are super cute fuzzballs. Sandhills frequent Albuquerque during the fall and winter months.
