Birds of the Bosque

 I use the Merlin Bird App for bird identification most of the time. The app is free and is a product from Cornell University. These bluebirds look almost identical to the eastern bluebirds I've posted about before. The app selected Eastern Bluebirds in the first group of pictures I posted about, but this time when I submitted these 3 pictures the app matched the pictures with Western Bluebirds. The two birds, East and West are very close in appearance.  The tails on Western Bluebirds are longer and the deep blue color is more prevalent in Western Bluebirds. I've been searching for these bluebirds hoping to find them in  the right light where the color just pops, the bird is in focus and it's in an interesting pose.  I finally got it, but it's taken some work to get here.
