Birds of the Bosque

 

I've said this before...   I was almost back to the parking lot and then this happened.  Just before I got back to the parking lot at the Alameda Open Space, I came to the little stream that runs under the bridge. I came out from under the bridge and experienced a super cute moment.  There was a whole woodduck family: mom, dad, and a number of little ones swimming about. The little ones were so adorable! This wasn't the only cute moment of the day, though. When I started out this morning there was a songbird up in the canopy somewhere and I was intent on finding it. After a few minutes, I gave up and lowered my camera/lens. When I looked up, there was a hummingbird hovering right in front of me, eyeing me, like "Hello! I'm here! Take my picture!" It was a great way to start the day.
