This will take several posts as there are about 6-8 pictures. I was out on our patio in the backyard taking pictures of hummingbirds, and I noticed this yellow strand of something swaying back and forth off of the red yucca, but there was no wind, which was quite strange. I took my eye away from the camera and walked over to investigate. There was a bumblebee trapped in a spider's web! The bee was frantically trying to try free itself by swaying on the end of the web it was trapped in. I didn't realize the spider was a giant black widow until I started taking pictures of the bee. Viewing this action through the camera, you could see the spider and the bee 'going at it.' The bee trying to escape and the spider moving in for the kill. I had the wrong camera lens but I did the best I could. As the spider was moving closer, the bee was rapidly flapping its wings while swinging back and forth, dangling in the web.
