A Picture in Honor of National Bird Day

It's national bird day according to our local weatherman. He comes up with celebratory days for everything. Today was overcast for the most part, so it was not an ideal picture day because of low light conditions. I still took some photos but because of the low number and the tedious process of removing the sd card from the camera, I'll wait until another day to look at the pictures. The picture below is from a couple of days ago when there was a plethora of birds to photograph. Walking along the high path in the Alameda open space, a bluebird in flight caught my eye. Observing birds of color, especially brilliant colors, is very rare in Albuquerque; so when you see one it immediately gets your attention. The Eastern bluebird was flitting about and the wings were a brilliant blue. I didn't get a picture right off so I followed it as best I could. The bluebird then surprised me several times by joining up with a small group of other bluebirds, and then by sitting on a branch with two other bluebirds. The perfect pose; well with one exception...how do you get all three birds to look at you at once? I took numerous photographs but I think the one below is probably the best.
